Lucknow’s Sheroes’ Hangout cafe to stay, social media campaign finally pays off!

Knocksense Staff

The social media campaign to save the Sheroes’ cafe managed by Acid attack survivors in Lucknow finally pays off. The Sheroes’ Hangout cafe is here to stay but the organisation, which runs it might be changed. With this the name of the cafe may also be changed but the objective of the cafe will remain the same and it will continue to be a place run and managed by acid attack survivors.

The Uttar Pradesh’s Child, Women & Family Welfare department on Wednesday announced that the NGO Chhanv Foundation was given the charge to handle the cafe for 2 years in 2016. The department further alleged that due to financial irregularities, the authorities have decided to find a new owner for the cafe.
