Metro Stations in Lucknow may soon be decluttered with autorickshaw stands

Knocksense Staff

The newly operational metro in Lucknow has already received its fair share of daily travellers. The footfall has increased and people have taken to the new mode of transportation. The increase in footfall has forced the authorities to think about parking and the imminent road blocks. To avoid the threat of roadblocks and traffic jams, LMRC has decided to introduce parking spots for autorickshaws.

What's the update?

With the metro being used so frequently, the clutter along the stations from e-rickshaws and auto rickshaws, is to be expected. To avoid the same and make sure that metro stations are easily accessible to the people, LMRC will introduce stands for autorickshaws.

This will not only make the roads clutter free but will also ensure the last mile connectivity issue is resolved.

The Facts

The lucknow metro stretch is bereft of ample space to build the stands and separate parking areas but LMRC and the traffic department have ensured that the stands would be ready soon.

Why the need?

With the metro slowly aiming to become the lifeline of transportation in the city, it becomes important to make sure that commuters have a smooth travel experience. The last mile connectivity is an important issue. Hence, it becomes necessary to take active measures to ensure that the metro stations do not become a bottleneck of roadblocks and commuters have a smooth and easy metro ride.
