Monsoon makes a comeback! Rainfall expected in Lucknow from Sept 15

Amousi Centre reports formation of a new low-pressure area over Bay of Bengal.

The northern Terai regions of Uttar Pradesh have seen two days of consistent rainfall, and now rain is expected in Lucknow and Eastern UP. Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of light to moderate rain between September 15 and 18, while Western Uttar Pradesh is expected to remain mostly dry.

New low-pressure system driving rainfall

The Amousi Meteorological Centre has reported the formation of a new low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal near West Bengal. Senior scientists stated that the system is likely to move towards southern Chhattisgarh in the next 48 hours. Its influence will intensify rainfall activity in Eastern Uttar Pradesh starting from September 15.

In the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded across eastern Terai regions, with heavy downpours in Bansi and Uska Bazar of Siddharthnagar.

Today, the maximum temperature in Lucknow is expected to hover around 34°C and the minimum at 27°C, which is 2 degrees above the seasonal average. The sky is expected to remain mostly clear, with a slight temperature increase.
