Namo Bharat trains to soon run on shorter routes like Lucknow-Kanpur & Meerut-Saharanpur

In Uttar Pradesh, preparations are underway to connect major cities with Namo Bharat trains. It will soon be running on shorter routes like Lucknow-Kanpur and Meerut-Saharanpur. These new services will stop at major stations and be equipped with air-conditioned bogies. That means you can enjoy an AC ride, even on short distances!

According to our Railway Minister, around ₹19,858 crore have been further allocated for UP’s railway development, with an additional ₹1,040 crore investment.

157 new stations and more coming soon!

As per reports, 157 stations are being developed in Uttar Pradesh under the Amrit Bharat scheme, with increased capacity. Currently, 14 Vande Bharat trains are operating across 20 districts in Uttar Pradesh. The Amrit Bharat train running from Darbhanga to Delhi also passes through 10 districts in the state.

Over the past decade, 5,200 km of new railway lines have been laid across Uttar Pradesh.
