The inauguration of the Purvanchal Greenfield Expressway touted as India's largest operational expressway, took place in Uttar Pradesh today. The 341-km-long east to west corridor originates from the state capital, Lucknow and stretches eastwards till Ghazipur.
A six-lane road, this expressway also includes a 3.2-km-long air-strip near Sultanpur, which hosted a mega-show during the launch programme. As per reports, vessels of the Indian Air Force took to flight from here during the show, marking its grand opening for the public. The Purvanchal Expressway is pegged to streamline and facilitate both, traffic and development in the eastern regions of the state.
The inauguration of this project has paved a clear route of development and trade in the eastern periphery of Uttar Pradesh. Improved commute and connectivity will directly boost the trade and industries in these regions, knitting overall development in the state.
