'Run for G20 Walkathon' held in all glory in 4 cities including Lucknow; more programmes to follow

In order to make masses aware of the upcoming G20 Summit taking place in numerous Uttar Pradesh cities in February, a widespread walkathon was hosted in four cities/districts including Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, and Gautam Buddha Nagar.

The ‘Run for G20 Walkathon’ was flagged off earlier last week, and more events are to take place in town very soon. To commemorate the occasion, officials also laid the foundation stone of 'G20 Multipurpose Sports Hall' at KD Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow.

Multiple programmes ahead of the G20 conference

In tandem with the upcoming Summit, multitude extensive cultural and social programmes are being organised across the state ahead of the G20 conference, including the walkathon and a mini marathon. The aim is engage the masses and call for far-reaching public participation. These events are slated to run till August.

In his address, UP CM spoke about the G-20 conference and emphasised on the opportunity the state has received consequently to globally propagate the culture and heritage, food and tourism of Uttar Pradesh. Numerous high-level officials were present on the occasion.

The grand event will see the participation of representatives arriving from some 20 countries. The month of February will see two crucial affairs taking place in Lucknow, the Global Investors Summit from February 10-12 where more than 10,000 entrepreneurs are likely to participate, followed by G20 Conference from February 13-15.

Out of the 11 G20 meetings in the state between the aforementioned dates, six will be organised in Varanasi, three in Agra, one in Lucknow and one in Greater Noida.
