Khushbu Kirti

Folks in Lucknow, 'tis time to invoke both patriotism and nostalgia in you for we're heading towards a day of pride. With the 77th Independence Day celebrations tomorrow, the city administration has decided on screening two recent blockbuster patriotic films for free.

You heard that right — relive the junoon by watching Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and IB71 for free in numerous Lucknow multiplexes. Check out the list below to note the timings and locations of the same:

A day well spent: Independence Day 2023

While Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has entered its 10th year, the 2013 iconic biopic on late field sprinter Milkha Singh is also remembered for it being one of actor Farhan Akhtar’s most memorable performances. Moreover, the Vidyut Jammwal starrer, IB71, is a spy thriller, full of suspense, and revolves around Indian intelligence officers on a high-stakes mission.

So, this year on August 15, besides absorbing the beauty of the city, with buildings glistening in the Tricolour, patriotic songs reminding us of the hard-earned freedom achieved by our revolutionary freedom fighters, we can also instill the strong spirit by watching the two movies.

P.S. The theatres will operate on a first come, first serve basis.
