A visit to The Cairo Tales, Lucknow’s first Egyptian themed resto-bar will surely leave you dumbfounded. Adorned with hieroglyphic carvings, Egyptian sculptures and pharaohs, you’re going to be transported to a world where Cleopatra was Queen and people worshiped cats.

The ancient Egyptian theme is clearly visible on the walls and widely spaced seating arrangements here. With room for more than 100 people, there is enough for all to enjoy the live performances that are organized here on a regular basis.

What is the vibe this Saturday?

The main attraction on the 27th October will not be the mysterious pharaohs and hieroglyphs, but the Mumbai based progressive alt rock band ‘Daira’. They will be performing in Lucknow for the first time, showcasing some mesmerizing tunes from their third and latest album ‘Itni Jurrat’.

About Daira

The band was formed in 2014 when a group of five friends gathered together and jammed for three days straight. The band’s music is extremely unique as are the artistes. With each musician following their own style, they harmonize well and form a melody that will strike a chord with your heart and mind. Expressing their takes on core issues like peace, war and love, their aim is to spread positive vibes among the listeners.

The Food

The Egyptian spin is noticeable as we move on to the food section of the resto-bar. One of the specialties here is the Egyptian Fattah, which is pocket pita bread stuffed with a variety of exotic Egyptian herbs and minced chicken pieces. If your palate desires even more, then another delicacy to try is the Hawawshi, an age old Egyptian dish wherein spicy minced chicken is served along with freshly baked bread stuffed with succulent bell peppers.

If live events and fun filled parties are your thing, you should definitely visit The Cairo Tales. What you should look out for after this live musical performance is their Haloween Party, which is being held on 31st October. Gear up for a magical evening and enjoy the hard hitting tunes over drinks and dinner.
