All railway stations of Lucknow division to soon be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities

Stations to get automatic ticket vending machines, water ATMs and more

In a bid to turn railway stations in Lucknow more passenger-friendly, the railway board is all set to upgrade facilities and add state-of-the-art facilities on the platforms. Under the ambit of this project, more than 100 railway stations including Charbagh, Aishbagh, Alamnagar and Lucknow Junction in the Lucknow division will be equipped with better facilities. Around ₹90 crores allotted to Lucknow Division

With a total budget of around ₹90 crores, this project will upgrade the customer facility at railway stations in the Lucknow Division. As a part of this initiative, the stations will get automatic ticket vending machines, water ATMs and other such facilities. Moreover, special attention will be given to improving the cleanliness of the stations and parking arrangements to ensure passengers do not face any inconvenience.

Reportedly, the Railway Board has directed all the zones including North and Northeast Railway to prepare a plan of action to increase passenger facilities and ensure safer operation of trains. Through this initiative, the board aims to enhance the passenger experience thereby increasing passenger footfalls.
