In view of the annual DGP Conference in Lucknow and the VVIP movements scheduled to take place in the next two days, the traffic department and police have issued a list of route diversions. Reportedly, the route diversions have been in place since 6 AM Thursday and will be valid till November 21. As informed by DCP Rayees Akhtar, the following routes will stay affected through the weekend:

Traffic changes for light motor vehicles

The movement of light vehicles, from Amausi VIP tiraha turn to VIP Gate will be completely banned. Similarly, such vehicles coming from the Lalbatti intersection towards the Bandaria Bagh intersection and from this point to Raj Bhavan will also be restricted. The road between Vijayipur underpass to Indira Gandhi Pratishthan will also be blocked.

However, vehicles can ply uninterrupted from the Lalbatti intersection to Lalbahadur Shastri Tiraha, and between Park Road or Sisendi tiraha, Lal Bahadur Shastri tiraha. Movement from Kamta intersection to Ahmamau will remain uninterrupted. In addition to this, the road starting from the Prerna Kendra towards Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg can be accessed by the public as well.

Route diversions for heavy vehicles

Heavy vehicles coming from Kanpur towards Junabganj, Banthra, Sarojininagar, Amausi Airport and those from Shaheed Path, Kanpur Road to Ramabai Ambedkar Maidan, Ahmamau will face roadblocks. The stretch between Budheshwar Crossroads to Barabirwa Chauraha and Amausi Airport will also be closed for the movement of trucks, trolleys and buses. Moreover, vehicular movement from Rae Bareli Road and Mohanlalganj Kasba tiraha to PGI, Utretia will remain suspended.

Heavy gear vehicles coming from Sultanpur Road Gosaiganj Kasba tiraha to Ahmamau Shaheed Path Bridge will be stopped. Similarly, those heading from Kamta Shaheed Path tiraha towards Ahmamau will also face road restrictions. City buses from Kunwar Jagdish intersection cannot take the direct route to Loco KKC, Rabindralay and Charbagh Tiraha, added officials.

Roadways from Ahmamau Shaheed Path Bridge Crossing to Katai Bridge Crossroads will also be blocked till Sunday. Traffic movement will stay affected at Polytechnic Crossroads for city buses playing from Gomtinagar, Digdiga Square and Samta Mulak Square to 1090, Golf Club, towards Bandaria Bagh.

Heavy vehicles to be diverted through these roads

Instead, buses and trucks can take the route cutting from Mohanlalganj, Gosaiganj or Kati Bagiya via Mohan Road, added officials. Roads from Barbirwa Crossing to Tikoniya tiraha, Budheshwar, Mohan Road, Kati Bagiya will also remain functional. Besides, the track from Junabganj, Kati Bagiya to Mohan Road can be used as well.

Vehicles can also ply on the diverted route through Haidergarh, Barabanki or Mohanlalganj, Junabganj, Kati Bagiya. All movement via Sushma Hospital, Polytechnic Chauraha, Matiyari, Barabanki, Haidergarh will be permitted as usual. Additionally, roads from Fatehali Talab, Alambagh, Mawaiya or Bangla Bazar to Telibagh and via Utretia, Telibagh, Bangalbazar, through Badshahnagar, Mahanagar, Sankalp Vatika, Hazratganj, Hussainganj will be accessible too.
