India's fast-bowling legend, Zaheer Khan, is gradually becoming the most likely replacement for Gautam Gambhir as the new LSG mentor. Notably, the mentor spot in the Lucknow Super Giants camp has been vacant since Gambhir left for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2023.

After the departure of Morne Morkel, who is also slated to join India's squad alongside Gautam Gambhir, another vacancy has opened for Lucknow's IPL team. Hence, the hunt for the new team mentor has picked up speed.

According to reports, Zaheer Khan is currently being considered the front runner for the role thanks to his coaching experience in the IPL with the Mumbai Indians.
