In a major push for economic and infrastructural development in Navi Mumbai, CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation) has signed four key MoUs at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Notable collaborations include a ₹20,000-25,000 crore investment with Eruditus to develop an International Educity and a ₹1,700 crore deal with BookMyShow to build a state-of-the-art outdoor entertainment arena.
The Educity, which will house 8-10 foreign universities, is set to create 20,000 jobs and position Navi Mumbai as a global education hub. It will be strategically located near the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport and key infrastructure like Aerocity and Sports City. The BookMyShow partnership will bring a 20,000-seat arena, modelled after global venues like Madison Square Garden and The O2 Arena, expected to host concerts, sports, and cultural events.
Additionally, CIDCO has secured two more MoUs, a ₹25,000 crore investment for a data centre with Panchshil Realty and a ₹1,500 crore logistics park deal with Welspun World, creating over 2,500 jobs.
These partnerships are part of Maharashtra's broader efforts to attract investments and boost its economic potential, marking a pivotal moment for Navi Mumbai's transformation.
