Those opting for Mumbai Metro Line 1 now won't have to carry multiple cards as the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) will be allowed for all metro lines. Earlier, Metro Lines 2A and 7 were NCMC-compliant but that was not the case for all stations on Line 1, which covers the Versova-Ghatkopar-Andheri route.

With this step, all fare gates will accept the common mobility card via a single card reader, which will enable up to 900,000 unified transactions every day. It is noteworthy that the MMRDA has collaborated with the State Bank of India for NCMC and has already sold 168,324 cards for Metro Lines 2A and 7.
