In a massive step towards empowering the rural agricultural industry and healing the deteriorating environment, a 200 meter long crash barrier made entirely of bamboo, named 'Bahu Balli'. This unique crash barrier has come up on the Vani-Warora highway, which comes in Maharashtra's Vidarbha region.

Made from bambusa balcooa, which is a bamboo species found in West Bengal, this new crash barrier in Maharashtra has undergone a slew of tests on different parameters, including a fire rating test at Roorkee's Central Building Research Institute and track tests in Indore's Pithampur, securing impressive ratings in both.

This initiative also comes as a tremendous positive for India's bamboo sector while also empowering the rural agricultural industry, pushing the country forward on the goal to become 'Aatmanirbhar'. Furthermore, such an initiative also minimizes the affect on the environment as bamboo has a recycling value between 50-70 percent, which is almost twice as much as that of steel.
