Hilfiger shared that his fashion journey began over four decades ago, in Mumbai! The designer reminisced about his early days, saying, “I started my career, designing my first collection ever in a factory in Santacruz, and it was really the very beginning of my career. It was over 40 years ago, and I’ve kept coming back since.”

He also recalled partnering with Indian-American businessman Mohan Murjani in 1985, when he convinced him to launch his own label rather than join Calvin Klein. Sporting his signature blend of relaxed yet refined fashion, Hilfiger also expressed his fondness for Indian cuisine, quipping that he is a tandoori kind of guy, but wouldn’t say no to butter chicken either.
