In the pipeline for while now, the Maharashtra Legislative Council has finally passed a resolution on July 9 to rename 7 Mumbai Local Train Stations. Spearheaded by State Parliamentary Affairs Minister, this initiative aims to give new names to stations, currently in English.

Now, the new names will be submitted to the Union Government for final approval. This decision reflects a broader debate on shedding colonial legacies associated with station names.
