On the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, Mumbai is set to witness the grand immersion of Lord Ganesha idols, with thousands of devotees expected to participate. To manage the massive crowds and ensure security, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive advisory, deploying 21,000 officers across the city.

Key traffic restrictions and diversions-

  • Complete halts on routes from Prarthana Samaj Junction to Vinoli Junction and from Navjeevan Junction to M Powell Junction

  • Diversions via Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road, Tardeo Circle, Nana Chowk, and Wilson Junction

  • Special restrictions in South Mumbai and Colaba, including closures on Captain Prakash Pithe Marg and Rambhau Salgaocar Marg

  • Parking bans on Nathalal Parekh Marg, Pandey Road, and other key roads to prevent congestion

  • Heavy vehicles restricted on RC Marg from Maravali Church to Chembur Naka

Police have urged citizens to use public transport, avoid private vehicles near immersion sites, and follow official instructions for a peaceful and orderly celebration. Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly.
