Mumbai braces for season’s heaviest monsoon spell; IMD issues Yellow Alert!

The IMD has forecasted continuous rainfall through July 6.

Mumbai is in for a serious monsoon soak, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a Yellow Alert for today, July 3. The city is likely to see its heaviest rain of the season so far, with overcast skies, heavy downpours, and temperatures around 30°C by day and 26°C at night. The alert, in place till July 6, comes with warnings of waterlogging, traffic delays, and general disruption.

The rain isn't limited to Mumbai alone; Raigad and Ratnagiri face an Orange Alert, risking very heavy rains and landslides. Fishermen are warned to stay ashore as the Konkan coast braces for rough seas.

With the IMD forecasting persistent rainfall through July 6, Mumbaikars are advised to carry umbrellas, expect delays, and maybe rethink those weekend plans!
