Mumbai traffic announces diversion in Dadar area; Check alternate routes here

After a gap of nearly two years, the Govindas in Mumbai are excited to celebrate the festival without any COVID restrictions.

However, the number of cases has started to increase again due to which necessary precautions are still being taken care of. With the growing enthusiasm among the Govindas, the Mumbai Police has also been active in enforcing security measures in the city. For the same, the Mumbai Traffic Police on Thursday announced traffic diversions ahead of the Janmashtami celebrations.

Traffic diversions for smooth and hassle-free commute

In view of the festive celebrations on August 19, Dahi Handi has been organised at various locations in Dadar and the area police division has started taking measures for a smooth festive celebration.

A traffic notification issued by Deputy Police Commissioner, Raj Tilak Roushan, H.Q. and Central, Mumbai Traffic Police mentions that in order to prevent danger, obstruction and inconvenience to the public, traffic will be diverted on various routes on August 19 and these diversions will remain in effect till 11:00 PM.

  • Ranade Road shall be closed for traffic from Paneri junction to Dadar West railway station.

  • Da Silva Road shall be closed for traffic from Visava restaurant to Dadar West railway station.

  • MC Jawale Road shall be closed for traffic from Kabutarkhana to Dadar West railway station.

  • New Prabhadevi Road shall be closed for traffic from Dhanmil Naka to Appasaheb Marathe Road.

  • Rajabhau Desai Road shall be closed for traffic from Prabhadevi Naka to Appasaheb Marathe Road.
