The potential heatwave has raised health concerns.

IMD Mumbai has warned of scorching temperatures ahead as a heatwave is anticipated to hit on April 28-29, with interiors of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region likely to experience intense heat. During last week's heatwave, temperatures in Mumbai surged to 39.7°C, marking the hottest April day in a decade.

Sunil Kamble, IMD Mumbai head, attributes the heat to an encroaching anticyclone. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, IMD Colaba recorded 32.1°C, marginally below normal, and Santacruz 34.2°C, slightly above average. Humidity hovers around 72%.

The potential heatwave, projected to strike from Saturday to Monday, has raised health concerns, with temperatures forecasted to peak between 38-39°C. Sushma Nair, IMD scientist, cites an expected anticyclonic circulation, hinting at the impending heatwave.
