The Mumbai Coastal Road has hit a major milestone with the opening of the final stretch connecting to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. This new section was inaugurated on Thursday, marking the third stretch of the 10.5-kilometre project to open in recent months.

However, with this development, free rides end too as a toll of ₹100 will now apply at the Bandra exit from today. The new stretch, initially for southbound traffic, will serve northbound commuters temporarily, cutting travel time from South Mumbai to Terminal 2 from 120 minutes to just 30 minutes. The southbound section is expected to be completed in few months, with further developments planned for the Bandra-Versova Coastal Road.
