Mumbai's Eid-e-Milad celebrations rescheduled by Maha Govt; processions now slated for Sept 18

Previously the Eid-e-Milad holiday was slated for September 16.

Heads up, Mumbai! The Maharashtra Government has rescheduled the Eid-e-Milad holiday from September 16 to September 18. This change is due to the overlap with Anant Chaturdashi and the Ganpati Visarjan on September 17.

Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad [PBUH], is observed on September 16, subject to the position of the moon. However, the Khilafat House in Byculla, representing the local Islamic community, opted to postpone Eid-e-Milad processions to September 18, ensuring a smoother celebration for everyone.

In light of this, September 18 is now officially designated as the Eid-e-Milad holiday, with the processions set to take place on that day.
