The much-anticipated Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is now set to open in June 2025, following a rescheduling from its originally planned April launch. While the inauguration is confirmed for June, the exact timeline for the commencement of operations has not been disclosed.

Developed by Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd (NMIAL), a joint venture between Adani Airport Holdings Ltd and CIDCO, this state-of-the-art aviation hub aims to transform air travel in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with advanced infrastructure and seamless connectivity.

Featuring two parallel runways and multi-modal connectivity, NMIA will initially handle 20 million passengers and 800,000 tons of cargo annually, with plans to expand to 90 million passengers. The airport aims to decongest Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport while offering world-class infrastructure.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, recently visited the site, calling it a “glimpse into India’s aviation future.” Domestic operations are expected to begin by July, with international flights starting later in the year. The ₹18,000 crore project marks a significant step in boosting India’s aviation capacity and connectivity.
