The Navi Mumbai Metro has achieved a remarkable milestone, securing three prestigious ISO certifications for quality, environment, and safety standards within its inaugural year of operation. Maharashtra’s CIDCO announced this on December 16, highlighting the metro’s commitment to global excellence.

Operated by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (Maha Metro), the metro received ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications from the British Standards Institution (BSI). These certifications underscore the metro’s dedication to delivering high-quality services, sustainable practices, and stringent safety measures.

The 11-km Belapur-Pendhar corridor, launched on November 17, 2023, connects key areas like Belapur CBD, Taloja MIDC, and Kharghar housing complexes. With this distinction, Navi Mumbai Metro becomes the first in Maharashtra to earn all three ISO certifications in its debut year, setting new benchmarks in urban transportation
