Applications open till October 1.

The National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi’s premier theatre institute, is launching a year-long acting course in Mumbai. Applications are open until October 1, with auditions scheduled for 10 October. NSD has produced some of India’s finest actors including Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Irrfan Khan, Anupam Kher, and Makrand Deshpande. The Mumbai programme will follow NSD’s signature methodology, developed over 66 years of theatre practice.

Course details

  • Venue: 603, Durga Chambers, Andheri West

  • Batch Size: 30 students (to be shortlisted post auditions)

  • Duration: 15 October 2025 onwards

  • Timings: 8 am to 6 pm, five days a week

Fees & concerns

The course fee is set at over ₹5 lakh. While students have raised concerns about the high cost, officials explained that the fee is necessary as the course currently receives no government aid.

Meanwhile, NSD is seeking state government support to secure land and build a permanent campus in Mumbai. Until then, the Andheri facility will serve as the base for its Mumbai operations.
