Mumbai recently witnessed the unveiling of Recover-E, India’s first race car made entirely from e-waste. Launched by green tech firm Envision Energy in collaboration with EARTHDAY.ORG, the car stands as a symbol of sustainability and innovation. The race car has been assembled using discarded electronics such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops.

A first for India, second worldwide

Recover-E is the first vehicle of its kind in India and only the second globally. It highlights the need for environmentally responsible manufacturing practices and aims to raise awareness about India’s growing e-waste crisis.

The unveiling took place at The Radio Club, Mumbai, as part of Earth Day 2025, themed Our Power, Our Planet. The event underscored the urgency of shifting to clean energy and circular economy models.

According to Envision Energy, the car is a movement towards greener solutions. It embodies the belief that sustainability and technology can go hand in hand, pushing for a future where waste is seen as a resource, not a burden.
