On September 16, Prix Versailles unveiled its World’s Most Beautiful Emporiums List for 2024. This list showcases seven newly opened or reopened emporiums that are not just shops but masterpieces of creativity, celebrating local heritage and ecological efficiency.

And guess what? One of these gems hails from India—and it’s none other than Sabyasachi Mumbai, at the 4th position! Founded 25 years ago, Sabyasachi is a well-known brand in India and well, abroad too. Its largest flagship store in Mumbai, sits inside a majestic neoclassical monument near Horniman Circle, built in the early 20th century.

The list is a true international affair, with Geneva’s Dior taking the top spot, followed by SKP in Chengdu, China, and the Nouvelles Galeries in Annecy, France. Rounding out the list are the Bookshops at the Colosseum in Italy, and further down, we have Boucheron Ginza from Tokyo, Japan, and Parqal from Parañaque, Philippines.

Notably, these emporiums will be competing for three coveted 2024 World Titles—Prix Versailles, Interior, and Exterior. The winners will be revealed at UNESCO Headquarters on December 2, 2024. So, keep your fingers crossed for our Mumbai favourite!
