He set up Johny Hot Dog near Starlight Talkies, which later grew to a 120 sq feet shop in the famous Chhappan Dukaan street of Indore. Rathore recalls, “There was a cinema hall here during my childhood days where hot dogs were sold. The cinema hall shut down in the 1970s and I started selling hot dogs outside it.” Crediting his mother for his grand success, Rathore affirmed that he gets all the motivation from her. He tells that it is his mother’s recipe that has been fruitful towards winning such humongous fame and recognition.
While Johny Hot Dog’s list of achievements is endless, the most noteworthy of them all is the ‘Most Popular Menu Item in Asia Pacific’ in the first-ever Uber Eats APAC Restaurant Partners Awards 2019. Remarkably, the hot dog company left behind big names like McDonald’s, Burger King and Pizza Hut as it clinched this special feat.
