As COVID tallies in Goa take a consistent downward trajectory, the state government issued a fresh list of guidelines with new unlock measures, recently. While the curfew stands extended in the coastal state till July 12, certain restrictions have been relaxed for the benefit of the citizens and the business. Here’s everything you need to know about what’s open and what’s shut in Goa.
List of activities, locations & programs that will be non-operational
- Casinos
- Shops
- Indoor sports complex/auditoriums/community halls or similar places
- River cruises/waterparks/entertainment parks
- Gyms/spa/massage parlours
- Cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes and entertainment zones within shopping malls
- Swimming pools
- Schools, colleges, educational campuses and tuition centres for students
- Religious places for the public
- Weekly markets
It is noteworthy that examination of college students and competitive tests will be allowed after proper permission from the government is procured.
Following events and activities are not allowed in the state
- All kinds of social, political, entertainment, academic, cultural, sports events and other gatherings (Marriage functions with 50 people will be permitted)
- Assembly of five or more individuals at public places but official functions are allowed with DM/SDM’s permission.
- Inter-state movement of individuals other than:
i) those having Covid negative certificate with respect to a test done within 72 hours prior to entry in Goa
ii) people coming to Goa for medical emergencies with proper proof of the problem at hand
iii) 2 drivers and 1 helper will be permitted with every goods vehicle. Such people will be checked for COVID-related symptoms and thermal scans will also be performed on them by police officials. If any possibility of an infection is spotted, the entry will be denied - Usage of buses unless the purpose is related to duty or medical emergencies (Only 50% capacity to be utilized)
Following facilities will function despite the ongoing restraints
- Retail centres dealing in medicines/drugs and related activities.
- Shopping facilities in municipal wards, panchayat markets and malls are permitted to function from 7 AM to 6 PM. Home delivery of products, except liquor will be allowed throughout the day.
- Bars and restaurants can open with 50% seating capacity from 7 AM to 9 PM
- Banks, insurance, custom clearance, ATMs, microfinance institutions.
- All medical and health centres (including AYUSH and veterinary Hospitals, and laboratories)
- Cold storage and warehousing services.
- In-house canteen/catering facilities for the staff or residents on a campus
- All production centres/factories and associated things
- All manufacturing and related activities, including repairs.
- Stores dealing in house/building repairs, monsoon requirements or rain safeguards.
- Agricultural and allied activities.
