In an attempt to promote refurbished usage of vacant spaces in Goa, the state government has decided to rent out unused school buildings to non-profit organisations. Reportedly, a small fee will be charged from these social groups and welfare organisations for using these complexes. The decision for the re-utilisation of such buildings was announced after the Chief Minister headed a meeting of the state cabinet.
Directorate of Women and Child Welfare to get shools having Anganwadis
Speaking about the latest development, the CM affirmed that unused lands and buildings of government schools in Goa will be given to non-profit and other social groups. As a part of this, school buildings that have Anganwadis will be transferred to the Directorate of Women and Child Welfare. Reportedly, it was stated that this would aid in the better functioning of the Anganwadis.
As per reports, the CM asserted that there are 50 to 60 such complexes in the state, which can be handed over for a variety of purposes. Here, it is important to acknowledge the need for optimum usage of scarce resources as a tool for accentuating the ideals of sustainable development. Thereby, the initiative by the Goa administration will help in propelling the availability of enhanced facilities for fuelling progress in the state.
As per reports, there are plans to revamp a sugar factory into a water reservoir for resolving the supply issues in a state constituency. Further, it is expected that more measures of a similar kind will be announced in the future.
