To foster rife immunisation against the COVID contagion in the state, the Goa government on Friday, undertook a resolution to launch Tika Utsav 3.0, from June 13 onwards. Additonally, holding the state’s ultimate goal of achieving herd immunity in the near future, the authorities have now allowed walk-in registrations for the 18-44 age group. Further, the government is actively taking steps to ensure that the upcoming inoculation campaign covers 100% first dose inoculation for all citizens in the region.

Further, Goa’s CM tweeted that walk-ins will be allowed without any added restrictions and the drive will be conducted across the state in 164 locations, at Municipality/Panchayat levels alongside 40 permanent locations of DHS. As per official reports, 75% of the people above 45 years of age have been vaccinated and as many as 30% of the citizens, have not taken their first dose yet.
The CM also highlighted that the beneficiaries should not rush to the vaccination centres and a timetable will be issued to avoid further hassles related to slots.
It is also being highlighted the state authorities as yet, are aiming to vaccinate approximately 250 citizens at each of these centres, on a daily basis. If the drives are conducted in line with the blueprint of the curated plan, it may be hoped that a large chunk of the state population will be immunised, before the probable third wave.
It is also to be noted that lactating mothers and parents of children under 15, will be granted priority vaccination, under the 18-44 age bracket. The other priority groups in this segment include those with co-morbidities and disabilities.
