A partial 246-kilometre-long stretch of the upcoming Delhi-Mumbai expressway, connecting Delhi to Rajasthan was inaugurated.

Streamlined interstate access in a country via road networks and expressways can not only reduce commute time significantly but can also leverage the overall economy of the country by contributing to multiple sectors such as healthcare, defence, industrial, tourism and others. Last week, a partial 246-kilometre-long stretch of the upcoming Delhi-Mumbai expressway was inaugurated in the presence of the Indian PM.

Reportedly, this section, which has now been opened to the public, will connect Delhi to the city of Lalsot in Rajasthan. The city is a popular tourist destination in the state, popular for its hilly setting and noteworthy palaces.

The new Rajasthan-Delhi stretch of the expressway will help in generating tourist footfall in Rajasthan and will also aid in the transportation of goods between both regions.

Once completed, the 1,350-km-long Delhi-Mumbai expressway will facilitate seamless access between multiple states including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
