The second wave of coronavirus exposed the need to aggregate more hospital beds, oxygen supplies and other treatment facilities in Indore and across. As such, the district administration on Wednesday conducted the foundation laying ceremony (bhumi pujan) for a 300-bed centre in the Nanda Nagar region. Reportedly, this provision will be based on the ESI model and will cater affordable treatment to the working class.
New hospital to improve Indore’s medical infrastructure
The Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary, who laid the foundation of the hospital, highlighted the need for affordable hospitals for the common public, especially the labour class. This centre will prove to be beneficial for all those who cannot bear the bulky bills of private hospitals and institutes, he added. As per reports, the centre will have a super speciality system as well, to cater advanced facilities to the people.
The hospital will also provide medical aid and assistance to serious as well as emergency cases like accidents, read reports, however, admission priority will be given to the labour class population. The hospital premises are set to expand across 100 acres of land and a plan to establish a medical university here, is being considered as of now.
