In an attempt to prevent another spike in the pandemic graph, the Uttar Pradesh administration has decided to limit the number of guests at wedding functions and other celebrations or social events. In an order issued on May 18, the Chief Secretary of Home announced that only 25 people will be allowed to attend any public gathering across the state, in both open grounds and closed halls. All other COVID-19 appropriate protocols also need to be followed at such events, with responsibility.
Safety precautions at public events in UP
The state of Uttar Pradesh has ordained new restrictions, with respect to public gatherings across the territory. The order circulated on Tuesday, May 18 restricts the guest lists at weddings and other social events to just 25 attendees. Earlier, the limit was pushed to 50 in closed halls and 100 in open places, with safety precautions. The new restriction will be enforced with homogeneity across all venues.
Other directives have also been issued in a notification with respect to the guest behaviour and seating arrangement here to diminish the chance of increased contact and virus spread. The order mandates all attendees or guests have to wear masks and maintain safe social distance from each other. Other precautions such as the use of hand sanitizers, is also advised.
Meanwhile, the state has directed to make sure that the seating arrangement for guests at the events and functions is also at an optimum safe distance. Proper cleanliness, hygiene and sanitisation of restrooms and toilets at the venue must also be ensured.
