They say that films have the power to transport us to new worlds, to make us try new things and most importantly, they tell us a story that sticks with us. Many times, these stories shape us and more often than not, they have a huge impact on the human psyche. If you’re someone who loves films like we do and are looking for a film festival that makes you feel something new, then you have to be at the 10th Jagran Film Festival in Kanpur.

Why you have to be here

The kurta wearing, messenger bag slinging budding filmmakers will tell you that movies are the ultimate form of expression. Though this is true to an extent, we’re really not at liberty to comment on this but what we do know is that the film festival will truly be a spectacle of the peak of artistic expression and thought.

How many movies can you watch here?

Simply put, a whole lot. With over 400 movie screenings in almost all Indian languages, the film festival is beyond what the eye sees. It is a culmination of our different cultures, the thought processes from the people of these cultures, all under one roof. With the film festival, the goal is to bring people from various places closer through movies.

Collection of movies shown in 2018

You’ve got movies in Kannada and Telugu to movies in Assamese and Mizo Twang. The film festival perfectly blends the best of these cultures and showcases them all in one of the most poignant and meaningful art forms till date.

Will there be other things to do?

Apart from just watching thought provoking, powerful movies, you also get a chance to witness some of the biggest and best directors, producers and actors from Bollywood and other film industries in the country. They’ll be speaking on abstract topics and will throw light on some of their best roles and movies till date.

Seeing them in the flesh is another reason you should visit the event as it will be more insightful than you can ever imagine. Surely, you’re as excited about it as we are.

When will it take place?

The 10th Jagran Film Festival is set to take Kanpur by storm starting 27th July. Be sure to register for it here. A ticket costs just ₹50 so grab as many friends as you can.
