Traffic diversion plans to be rolled out for setting up underground stretch of Kanpur Metro
The next phase of the Kanpur Metro Project will witness the construction of a 4-kilometre long underground line from Chunniganj to Nayaganj. Along this section, 4 underground stations will be established at Chunniganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha and Nayaganj. In order to move ahead with the construction plans, alternate traffic routes would be chalked at all four locations and they would be functional for a period of around 2 years.

The Naveen Market metro station is proposed between Parade Chauraha and Kalyan Ji Bakery. Following routes will be available for the vehicles once the diversion plan is applied-
- Vehicles coming from Lal Imli will take a left turn at Parade Chauraha and reach Bada Chauraha via Civil Lines/Empire Road.
- On the stretch from Parade Chauraha to Kalyan Ji Bakery, 12 feet wide space will be left for vehicles going to Naveen Market from Bada Chauraha. This will be a one-way road.
- Vehicles coming from Lal Imli will reach Naveen Market through the Empire lane. They will pass through Bhargava Hospital's turn, taking a right turn after this spot.
- It is noteworthy that the parking on the main road will not be available for vehicles and they will use the crystal parking.
