All of us struggle with our identities at some point in life- ‘who am I’ and other related questions to base our sense of self on. But for those who don’t fit into the society’s box of protocols- y’all should know that you don’t fit in the closet either!

So to encourage you to step out and to embrace your self-identity, Awadh Queer Pride Committee, Lucknow, has arranged a session of tight loving hugs (with consent of course)! Read on to find out the details and to be a part of this much-awaited campaign.
Hug it Out!

In a collaboration with Lucknow’s Kabir Festival Season 4, Awadh Queer Pride Committee is calling out to those who need a hug!
To be a part of this movement, come over to the Sangeet Natak Academy at 6:45 PM on the 23rd of November and hug it all out. This exclusive event is all about inclusivity; to spread the message of love and acceptance.

With this first-of-its-kind event, the committee hopes to create a safe space for folks who are struggling with their identity and to reach out to those, who’ve been bullied into silence.
Sometimes your mental barriers are steeper than the physical ones- so to break ‘em to the grounds, every step helps, no matter how small. People around us don’t usually die of love but for the lack of it and not loving freely or not letting someone to do so, is actually a ‘queer’ thing to do.

Unfortunately, all of us go through certain discriminations at various points and sometimes, you’re either belting it out or are on the receiving end of it. But being judged on the basis of who your heart throbs for, is even worse because the world is more accustomed to seeing men holding guns than each other’s hands!
So in support of the folks who just need a long comforting hug and a listening ear, which understands and sympathises, you gotta come out for this event!
