Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey, PVC is one of the bravest sons of Lucknow. Now, the Capt. Manoj Pandey, PVC cricket tournament is here in an effort to pay homage to the fallen heroes of the nation. The goal of the tournament is two fold- to reignite our love for cricket and to pay a real tribute to the heroes who laid down their lives for the country in the fateful Kargil war of 1999.
So, in that light, here is all you need to know about the cricket tournament, which is happening right here in Lucknow and will host a total of 7 matches, at least till the finals.
Sahara Cricket Ground will be home to the prestigious tournament
The tournament will kick off from November 01, 2020 and will host at least 7 matches. In the tournament, there are four intra city teams which will compete against one another for the top prize of the winner’s trophy.
In the league stage, there will be 6 league matches, two with every team. These four teams are- Lucknow Titans, BCC (Bharat Cricket Club), Jankipuram Gladiators and CA 11.
Each team will have to play a match on Sundays. The winners will then qualify for the finalist position, which will be the winner of the top two teams. For the second runners’ up, there will be a lucrative prize. After each of the matches, players will be awarded with man of the match trophies and other titles of recognition.
Extraordinary batsmen and bowlers will also have their time in the limelight, as there will be an overall trophy for the best batsman and the best bowler. All in all, the tournament will be a great way to pay homage and our respects to the heroes that laid down their lives to protect the nation.
