The pandemic situation in Uttar Pradesh seems to be under control as on 3 July, 204 patients have been discharged while 112 positive cases have been reported. Among these 112 cases, 17 have been registered in Lucknow and 7 in Kanpur. However, the silver lining is that no patients have succumbed to their conditions in these two cities, in the past 2 days. Further, no positive cases have been reported in 36 other districts of UP.
Tally updates for Lucknow & Kanpur
Out of the 2,461 active cases in UP, the tally for Lucknow and Kanpur stands at 180 and 65, respectively. The number of fresh cases reported in these two major cities of Uttar Pradesh has seen a sharp decline and 0 fatalities have been noted in the past 48 hours. This marks a major achievement for the frontline workers who have been working to assuage the situation for months at a stretch.
‘Test, Trace and Treat’ to the rescue
As of Saturday, the total tally of tests performed in Uttar Pradesh stands at 5,86,26,730 and the state’s recovery rate stands at a robust 98.5 per cent. The number of discharges has superseded the number of fresh cases reported, yet again, and the credit for flattening the curve during the second swell is being given to the testing, tracing and treating methodology.
Apart from this, the partial curfew and vaccination drives also helped in alleviating the pressure of the rising number of fatalities. So far, more than 3.20 crore individuals have been vaccinated. Moreover, in the apprehension of the third wave, the state government has already set up 6,324 PICU beds out of the total target of 6,700.
