The Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Train will be covering the distance of 500 km between Delhi-Varanasi in four hours and India’s capital city will be just 2.5 hours away from the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The construction of this track will be in three phases and the project is slated to be completed by 2026. This initiative will definitely save the commuters of and from different cities, a substantial amount of time and money.
Gautam Buddha Nagar to get two high speed train stations
Notably, the high speed train which is set to run between Delhi and Varanasi, will have a route along the Yamuna Expressway, Lucknow-Agra Expressway and the Ganga Expressway. There will be two high speed train stations in Gautam Buddha Nagar- the first station will be established in Noida Sector-148 and the second one will be seated close to the Jewar International Airport.
This upcoming high speed train will start from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and will reach Noida International Airport, in approximately 21 minutes. The train will take 54 minutes to reach Agra from Delhi and travellers can reach Lucknow in two and a half hours and Varanasi in four hours. On this route, the high speed trains will be scheduled for every twenty minutes.
The route from Delhi to Varanasi will be 816 km long and will include Noida, Noida International Airport, Mathura, Agra, Kannauj, Lucknow, Rai Bareli, Etawah, Prayagraj and Bhadohi stations. The first phase will see construction work being done on the Delhi to Agra stretch, followed by Agra to Lucknow and from Lucknow to Varanasi, will be third phase.
The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited is also simultaneously preparing a detailed report of the project. As per the statement of the authorities, the information about the master plan will be made available to the corporation soon.
