In a major step to curb crime in the state capital, Lucknow Police has introduced dedicated 'Eagle Mobile' units tasked with the surveillance of criminals. These units will monitor offenders, conduct door-to-door verifications and prepare daily dossiers of criminal activities in the city.
Reportedly, the units have now been deployed across all 51 police stations in the city for prompt surveillance of criminal activities, head on. Each Eagle Mobile team comprises one head constable and a constable. With this, the units have also been equipped with two-wheelers and the teams will visit the residences of known and habitual criminals for verification purposes.
The initiative is directly being overseen by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Division, Lucknow for effective implementation. A control room is being set up at the District Crime Record Bureau (DCRB) to monitor the activities of these teams.
As for the tasks of the Eagle Mobile units, each team is required to prepare 20 dossiers daily, which will then be scanned and sent to the DCRB, with data also uploaded to the Trinetra app. A dedicated WhatsApp group has been created for the teams to share their daily updates.
