Adding another feather to the city’s resplendent cap, Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh airport has been officially recognized by the Airports Council International (ACI) under the banner of their Airport Health Accreditation programme. Joining Lucknow, are the airports of Ahmedabad and Mangaluru, as per the reports of Adani Enterprises. This global recognition demonstrates “extraordinary proactive measures” put in place by these airports to ensure passenger safety, said a regulatory filing.
Selected airports have demonstrated a safe travel experience for all travellers
The evaluation process by ACI under the AHA programme is carried out after reviewing pieces of evidence presented based on 118 checks. The selected airports have ensured a safe travel experience for travellers, in line with the prescribed COVID-19 protocols cited in the ACI Aviation Business Restart and Recovery guidelines and ICAO Council Aviation Recovery Task Force Recommendations, along with industry best practices. The accreditation is valid for the next 12 months.

It instils trust in health and safety standards practised at Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Mangaluru airports amidst the spread and control of the global coronavirus pandemic. We remain committed to reinforce our preparedness with global best practices and thus ensure a safe pre and post-flight experience for flyers at the three locations.”
Late last year, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD) in Ahmedabad, Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (LKO) in Lucknow, and Mangalore International Airport (IXE) were welcomed into the ACI family. Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru airports are already members of the council.
