In some amazing news for frequent travelers between the two neighbouring cities, the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway is expected to be completed by 2024. Once this 6-lane expressway is completed, the travel time between Lucknow and Kanpur will be reduced to just 35 minutes. Currently, the travel time of said journey lies between 90 minutes to 180 minutes.
Pillar construction work ready from Kanpur’s Sainik School
The work on the said expressway will be carried out in two packages. As of now, the pillar construction work on the expressway has already begun from Kanpur’s Sainik School. It is noteworthy that the expressway will also have a 18 kilometer elevated stretch. And 10% work on the said stretch has been completed.
Work on the second package of the project, which is 45 kilometers long, has also begun and is being sped up. This is being done to ensure that the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway is completed on time, i.e., December 2024.
Will also ease travel to Western Uttar Pradesh
Apart from decongesting the Lucknow-Kanpur route, this expressway will also simplify travel to other regions of the state. After all, this 6-lane road will be connected to the Ganga Expressway and the Shaheed Path in Lucknow, as well. In addition to that, the expressway’s links to other highways will also ease travel towards UP West.
