In response to recent incidents in Gomti Nagar, the Lucknow Traffic Police have introduced strict measures to combat reckless driving, bike stunts, and road-related misconduct. Barricades have been set up overnight at the entrance of Chatori Gali, with similar precautions taken along several sections of Lohia Path, a hotspot for speeding and dangerous stunts.
Reportedly, the Gomti Riverfront bridge has also witnessed a spike in late-night accidents due to reckless driving, leading to increased police vigilance to ensure road safety.
Chatori Gali to be closed for commute during late hours
In response to rising incidents of reckless driving and mischief, the Lucknow Traffic Police have not only set up overnight barricades but also increased personnel deployment during peak and late-night hours, particularly when roads are more vulnerable to such activities.
Chatori Gali, once open without restrictions, has become infamous for night brawls. Similar incidents of fights, road rage, and stunts have been reported near key areas like the Taj Mahal Hotel, the bridge near Picup Bhavan, and the Riverfront Bridge.
To enhance safety, the police will enforce strict surveillance with cameras across Lohia Path, Chatori Gali, and Marine Drive. Heavy fines will be imposed on reckless drivers and bike stunters, with constant police presence to curb such behavior and ensure round-the-clock vigilance.
