In an attempt to attract investments in UP, the state government has finalized the date of the Global Investors Summit 2023, which will be held from February 10 to 12 in Lucknow. The roadmap for the orchestration and the promotion of GIS-2023 was recently discussed in a high-level meeting, held under the guidance of the UP Chief Minister.
Key guidelines and instructions for the structuring of GIS-2023
In recent years, Uttar Pradesh has made strides in meeting the aspirations of its people, and has climbed to one of the topmost spots in terms of GDP in India. With the Global Investors Summit 2023 edition, the state government has set its sights on an investment target of ₹10 lakh crore.
Furthermore, various concerned departments have been asked to prepare more than 30 sectoral policies which include EV policy, toys, textile, pharma, startup, data center and green hydrogen policy, which will be presented to the UP government prior to the investors’ summit.
Recent advancements and promotional strategy of GIS-2023
The UP government has garnered proposals from different countries including the U.K., France, Mauritius and Singapore. At the same time, the government is targeting a dialogue with representatives of certain other countries including the Netherlands, Canada, USA, Japan, Israel, Sweden and Thailand.
Furthermore, the state government has also scheduled a promotional campaign consisting of roadshows and other activities in order to attract investors.
Reportedly, these shows will be held in tier 1 cities of India including Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai as well as 18 international destinations.
