Lucknow University has decided that it will seek permission from the government to promote its first semester UG and PG students without final assessments, as their exams were postponed in view of the rise in COVID cases. Further, the University has decided that it will commence the second-semester classes for all undergraduate and master as online programmes. This decision was taken in a meeting of all department heads, presidents and university deans, under the council of the LU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alok Kumar Roy.

Lucknow University has decided that it will commence the second-semester classes for all undergraduate and postgraduate course as online programmes, in wake of the COVID surge. Accordingly, all HODs and college presidents have been directed to prepare a time table and upload it on their websites. While a copy of all department schedules will be available with the Dean, Academics, the time tables of all colleges will be available with the Dean, College Development Council.
Classes for the third and fifth-semester students are running smoothly via online channels, after the completion of their exams, informed the University Registrar. The assessments of the first-semester undergraduate and masters students were also scheduled before the second wave of coronavirus. However, they were later postponed to avoid the danger of infection, he further informed. Consequently, permission will be required to promote these classes without final exams.
5 member committee for Common Minimum Curriculum
The NSS chapter and NCC battalion will also organise an awareness program regarding the state’s vaccination drive. Meanwhile, a 5-member committee is also being formed as per the government’s instructions for the new Common Minimum Curriculum in undergraduate subjects.
These will include principals of the 2 colleges and 2 departmental heads of the university, under the chairmanship of the Dean, Academic. This committee will study the points of this new syllabus and will present their suggestions in the form of a proposal in the next meeting.
