With LDA clearing projects, Lucknow is set for a series of upgrades. These include the development of Moti Park near Moti Jheel, large-scale tree plantation in Bhikhampur, the redesign of Charak Chauraha to decongest traffic, and the finalisation of facade design and civic improvements in Hazratganj.

The decisions were taken during a review meeting chaired by Commissioner Dr Roshan Jacob at the LDA headquarters in Gomtinagar.

Moti Park to come up near Moti Jheel

A new ₹7 crore Moti Park will be developed near the 11-hectare Moti Jheel in Aishbagh. The upcoming park will feature walkways, kiosks, parking space, and dedicated wetland areas to treat sewage before discharge into nearby lakes. Illegal encroachments around Moti Jheel have already been removed, and fencing work is underway. A new access road from Aishbagh Road will also be built to improve connectivity.

Green push in Bhikhampur

Reclaimed land in Bhikhampur will be greened under a tree plantation drive, based on the Saumitra Van model. LDA will lead the project with assistance from the Forest Department.

Charak Chauraha set for major overhaul

To ease traffic in Chowk, Charak Chauraha will be redesigned. The rotary will be relocated to the centre, and roads around it will be widened. A joint survey by the Municipal Corporation, PWD, and a consultant agency is on the cards.

Hazratganj’s new look locked in

Final designs and colour schemes for Hazratganj’s makeover have been approved under façade control rules. This includes uniform signage, street lights, furniture, and bollards. During a meeting with traders, issues around water and sewer connections were raised. Authorities directed Jal Kal and LESA officials to resolve these promptly and fix underground cables.
