Lucknow’s latest eco-retreat, Laxmanpuri Ecotourism Reserve now open | Details
As another addition to Lucknow's new green spaces, Laxmanpuri Ecotourism Reserve has officially opened on Rae Bareli Road, near Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS). Spanning 12 acres, this eco-friendly reserve was inaugurated by UP Forest Minister and is designed to offer both recreational and educational experiences.
The sprawling green space encompasses a 2.5-kilometre interactive nature trail, an oxygen point showcasing high-oxygen producing trees, a Miyawaki forest, an eco-friendly cycling track, a children’s park, an open gym and a dedicated yoga point.
Committed to sustainability, Laxmanpuri Ecotourism Reserve maintains approximately 90% of its area in its natural state, ensuring minimal ecological disruption. This new addition complements Lucknow’s existing green spaces, such as the Kukrail Forest, CG City Wetlands, the upcoming Saumitra Van and aligns with the city’s growing focus on eco-tourism. With its emphasis on nature conservation, physical activity and environmental education the reserve is set to become a key destination for nature lovers and eco-tourism enthusiasts.
