In an attempt to augment business development skills in the youth of the state, the UP government is all set to start an online course in entrepreneurship soon. Reportedly, this 10-day long course will be conducted at the college level and participants will receive a certificate of completion from MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) and export promotion departments at the end.

According to Chief Secretary of MSME Navneet Sehgal, the course curriculum and modalities are currently being worked out at present. “The idea is to make youth self-reliant by empowering them so that they don’t just become job-seekers but job creators,” added the officer.
While talking about this new course, the Joint Commissioner of MSME (exports and Lucknow Zone) Pawan Agarwal said that the certification opportunity will be included in the departmental application called MSME Sarthi.

In addition to the advanced-level courses in specific areas like food processing, agricultural production, organic farming and mechanical work, this online course will have general certifications as well. In addition to the certificate, through this course participants will have exposure visits and bank linkages for loans to help turn their ideas into action.
With this, the administration aims to introduce entrepreneurial skills to the youth of the state at an early stage thereby laying the foundation of self-reliance in the formative years. Meanwhile, the MSME department has also decided to increase the seats under Mati Kala Board and Vishwakarma Shram Samman Scheme, two-fold.
