A place which is known across the country for its mangoes will soon become home to UP’s mega textile park. The state infrastructure and industries department have chosen Malihabad’s Atari village as the location for the upcoming PM Mitra Mega Textile and Apparel Park.
Why was Malihabad’s Atari village chosen?
The reason behind the Atari village in Malihabad being chosen as the spot for the textile park in UP is the place’s connectivity. The village is at a distance of just 20km from NH20 and SH20 that connect Lucknow to Hardoi and Sitapur.
Furthermore, a six-lane 20 kilometer outer ring road is also in close proximity to the village. In addition to that, Lucknow railway station, Amausi airport and the Malihabad railway station are all within 50 km from the chosen site for the textile park.
Textile park construction will be divided in 3 parts
The construction of this new textile park will be done in three parts. These will include common infrastructure (water supply, power supply, testing laboratory, etc.), special infrastructure (workers’ hostels, medical facilities, security arrangements, etc.) and premium space (industrial sheds and plots).
The government is planning to equip the UP mega textile park with state-of-the-art facilities in line with international standards to ensure the facility generates jobs for, at least, a hundred thousand youth. To be built on a public-private-partnership model, the govt is expecting investments of up to ₹10,000 crore for the proposed park.
